There are good calls. There are bad calls. But the insights and knowledge gained from both are what can elevate a sell-side research analyst to an all-star—and into Extel’s Developed Europe and EMEA Research Hall of Famers.
“I’ve been wrong many times over the years, especially when trying to fight against structural headwinds in the sector,” according to one of this year’s newest inductees. “The biggest lesson was to stay with quality businesses longer, even when valuation looks like a ceiling.”
In the looming shadow of global technological transformation by artificial intelligence, an all-star analyst in 2026 needs to be able combine depth with speed, according to another one of this year’s inductees. “Information is abundant, and artificial intelligence will make basic data processing easier and faster,” he told Extel. “The differentiator will be judgement: knowing which data matter, how to interpret them and how to translate them into investable conclusions.”
These two—along with three other peers—make up Extel’s 2026 class of Developed Europe and EMEA Research Hall of Famers. Four analysts from Developed Europe and one from Emerging EMEA have achieved a #1 ranking in their sector for ten years to achieve this milestone. They are:
Cor Kluis - ODDO BHF
Jose Asumendi - J.P. Morgan
Stamatis Draziotis - Eurobank Equities
Warwick Okines - BNP Paribas
