Highlights from the awards evening.

Now firmly established as a calendar highlight for brokers, C-suite executives, and IR professionals alike, the Extel Awards in London once again showcased outstanding talent from across EMEA. Nearly 200 guests gathered for an evening of recognition, networking, and celebration in the opulent art-deco surroundings of the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane. Attendees traveled from across mainland Europe, the Middle East, and South Africa for this prestigious occasion, and were treated to an energetic performance from charismatic emcee James Faulkner.

 Extel CEO David Enticknap remarked,“It’s always wonderful to see such strong representation from corporates and investment banks as they accepted their awards for excellence. The evening proved to be a tremendous success, and we extend our gratitude to all attendees—especially those who traveled from further afield—for joining us.”

More than 60 organizations and individuals were recognized for their achievements in this year’s Extel Survey. Among the highlights were special awards for Celine Pannutti (J.P. Morgan), named Overall Best Analyst; Gerard Zaffran (BNP Paribas), named Overall Best Specialist Salesperson; and Investec’s Julian Yates, awarded Overall Best Analyst UK SMID, alongside Luke Ahern, recognized as Overall Best Salesperson UK SMID.


Extel also had the pleasure of presenting a series of distinguished Hall of Fame awards for Research and Executive Teams. Induction into the Hall of Fame for Research requires achieving ten or more #1 analyst rankings, while the Hall of Fame for Executive Teams honors those securing more than five #1 positions.

Jason Fairclough, BofA Securities, Head of EMEA Metals & Mining Equity Research (14 positions); Achim Matzke, Chief Strategist, Matzke-Research GmbH (32 positions) and Sriharsha Pappu, HSBC, Managing Director, Global Head Energy and Materials (15 positions).

Hall of Fame - Executive Team

Marco Delfrate, Intesa Sanpaolo, IR Professional (10 positions); Deniz Can Yücel, MLP Saglik Hizmetleri, Director of Strategy and Investor Relations (7 positions); Burcu Öztürk, MLP Saglik Hizmetleri, Chief Financial Officer (7 positions) and Dominik Asam, SAP, Chief Financial Officer (6 positions).

 As in previous years, many guests stayed on after the ceremony to celebrate and enjoy some friendly competition in the fun casino, playing poker, blackjack, and roulette, with prizes awarded to those who amassed the most chips.
